Barry Holdsworth is passionate about plants, about design and about the landscape. He offers creative design solutions that are fresh and innovative yet functional. His projects range from a small cottage garden to the development of a stunning 70 acre landscape garden set within a country estate. Sites have included prestigious new building developments, existing gardens that have been improved and historical renovation projects.All of his design work is a unique statement of vision and imagination created to inspire extolling the wonders of nature in the garden.
His designs have been admired by many and publicly recognised - New Homes Garden Awards and The Evening
Standard New Homes Awards. He has also designed award winning displays of orchids at the London International
Orchid Show and a display of Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) at the Wisley Flower Show. His knowledge and
experience in the horticultural field has been shared with many listeners when he was a regular contributor on
BBC Southern Counties radio gardening programme. His work has been featured in a number of press articles in
Country Life, The English Garden, The Kitchen Garden Magazine and The Telegraph, as well as on television.
Barry Holdsworth is a professional horticulturalist and has been working in this field for over twenty years.
He has developed a successful horticultural consultancy business that provides advice on all aspects of managing
and developing gardens and landscapes – from design to implementation, through to the maintenance and
conservation of the garden. The consultancy’s aim is to maximise the garden’s full potential by working
closely with their clients in understanding their requirements to provide innovative and practical solutions
that are cost effective. The approach is to apply modern management techniques that are combined with practical
and theoretical horticultural experience. The consultancy operates throughout the UK and abroad providing a
personal service to a wide range of private and corporate clients.
